South County Outreach (SCO) was founded in 1989 as a nonprofit, non sectarian organization providing comprehensive services to families and seniors. The founder, Ray Havert, is an inspiration to all that know him. With an active Board of Directors and more than 150 volunteers, SCO has served thousands South Orange County families over the years.

SCO provides homeless prevention services to over 650 families per month. Additionally, at any given time, there are approximately 22 adults and 30 children residing in our transitional housing units.

Our programs Include:
  • Adopt-A-Family offers food and gifts to more than 800 families each holiday season.
  • Homeless Prevention
  • Food Pantry
  • Rental Assistance
  • Utility Assistance
  •
  • Computer Learning Lab at SCO teaches needed skills for employment.
  • Transitional Housing is a 6 to 9 month program to help homeless families achieve self-sufficiency and permanent housing.
  • SCO's Thrift Shop provides quality clothing, small appliances at minimal cost.
  • Benefactors of SCO's work often return and provide volunteer service, thus, expanding our community's circle of giving.
